Blue eyes
Staring at the sun
cover by the valley hills.

Daisys
growing like a blanket,
warming the dead grass.

Black velvet
surrounding the rabbit's hole
in wonder and respect.

Cold hands
Clasping each other
as a child hugs his mother.

Dark clouds
consuming the sky,
wrapping presents for below.

Rain
Pouring over ants,
watering the garden of youth.

Tears collecting on suits and dresses
replenish the ocean above.

Cotton balls
swimming away like vessels
reveal the moon.

Today has spun
faster than dragsters,
burning beer and martinis,
sprints the quarter mile.
Lost and remembered-
found and treasured-
Our beloved sun.
